Ongoing promotions has a new home

Over the last couple of months, we've been publishing a list of ongoing promotions - usually once a week, though sometimes not that often. However, it isn't easy to get to specific promotions, or for that matter, look through some of the previous promotions. So here's our new solution to this problem - a solution we believe will make it easy for our readers to access the various promotions we've written about, in one place. We've placed a spreadsheet of all such promotions, here on Google Docs.

We've also reconfigured the Ongoing Promotions button on the blog's pages. So when you click on the Ongoing promotions icon on the top right part of the page, you'll be taken to the Google Docs spreadsheet.

We felt it would be better to let readers directly control how much of detail they want to view, on those promotions. For instance, some may be interested in promotions for a certain period, some others in promotions only by a specific set of programs, etc. Having the source data can help users directly reach what they want, or leisurely browse through all of the promotions, depending on their needs.

For reader convenience, we have 

• listed the registration dates and the activity dates (flights or hotel stays between xx and yy date)
• colour coded the promotions based on their registration / activity dates, and finally
• decided to let even older promotions remain, so that readers can look at the history of promotions starting from when we started maintaining this list.

We will, of course, continue to publish a list of "ending-soon" type of promotions every now and then, so that readers don't miss out on great opportunities to earn points or miles, or score discounts or other fabulous deals!
