IHG Accelerate 2016: How I fared, and how you can locate your goal achievements

IHG ran Accelerate 2016, their spring 2016 promotion, which (like in with some of their recent promotions) offered targeted bonuses for different members. The promotion status was removed from the My Offer Status page on the Rewards Club portal after 30 April 2016. IHG is not known to be the quickest when it comes to posting points to accounts - worse in the case of promotions. And lately, they've had problems with stays in the Far East posting as non-qualifying stays!

But I have an award booking coming up, and so I just had to find out if IHG felt confident that I'd truly earned my bonuses under this promotion. So here's what I did.


So here's my original offer under this promotion:


I've been a bit concerned the last couple of weeks, because my one-night stay at the Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium was a sort-of mattress run, partly because it would help me complete the minimum requirement to earn a 34,900 point bonus. More importantly, I have some award bookings coming up, so I need the points badly!

Because of the unplanned nature of my stays, I could and would never ever be able to earn a bonus based on bookings at least a week out (which is what the member exclusive rate bonus required), so I was prepared to not earn the 4,000 bonus points from that offer. However, because I had to complete only 3 of the 4 offers (even if they had unresolved errors creep into this requirement later on), this could potentially work for me.

I managed 4 stays (all one-nighters) at various IHG hotels (twice at the Holiday Inn Delhi International Airport, and once each at Holiday Inn Express Gachibowli, Hyderabad and Crowne Plaza Gurgaon). And so Singapore helped me wrap it up, as well as earn the achievement bonus.

The problem is, its been over two weeks since my check-out, and I the bonuses arising from my Singapore stay haven't posted yet (though the stay itself has). 

I've been in touch with IHG Rewards Club on Twitter, who do a rather decent job of managing queries, and earlier today, they confirmed that my stay in Singapore did indeed qualify for the Stay More Earn More part of Accelerate 2016, and that it reflects in my account.


The problem is, it does not show up online!

The ones in green are qualifying stays under Stay More, Earn More of Accelerate 2016, and the ones in red are the other goal achievements under Accelerate 2016.

So I decided to research this, given what IHG's social media team was telling me was contrary to what was reflecting in my account. Note: IHG does take time to update your account

After about 15 minutes, I found this little beauty! And you can check your status too, using that link, once you've logged into your IHG Rewards Club account. Not the most transparent, but it works.
And here are the details.


Enough green ticks! So the social media team was right, at least partially! IHG has indeed recorded my stay, and the fact that I've qualified for earning all but 4k points under this promotion, which is awesome! Which also means I'll be getting another 42,400 IHG Rewards Club points into my account, good for at least 2 of the award nights I'm looking at. 

Now, for those points to actually post to my account...
