Hilton summer 2016 promotion - registration now open

Last evening we wrote about Hilton HHonors' summer 2016 promotion, which is the same as the previous promotion - double miles for all stays. At the time we published that post, the promotion page and registration weren't live. However, these have been updated by Hilton HHonors, and here is the relevant information.


You can access the promotion here, and also scroll down that page to register for the promotion. Here are a couple of important points about the promotion:
  • Unlike the previous quarter's promotion, there is no option this time to earn 2x miles (if you're a miles earning member). The bonusing is only on points.
  • Some promotions allow you to register before the promotion expires. Not so here. You will need to register first, and only those stays after registration earn bonus points under this promotion. As there is no downside to signing up, you should register immediately.

Here are the terms and conditions of this offer:

* Offer valid May 1, 2016, through August 31, 2016 (“Promotion Period”) at any hotel or resort in the Hilton Portfolio. Hilton HHonors™ members must first register at HHonors.com/UnlimitedBonus prior to completing a stay within the Promotion Period. Registered HHonors members will only receive Bonus Points for nights completed during the Promotion Period, regardless of a check-in date before the Promotion Period begins or a check-out date after the Promotion Period ends. Registered HHonors members will earn Double HHonors Bonus Points per stay during the Promotion Period. "Double Points" means you will receive a bonus equal to the number of Base Points earned during a stay. There is no limit to the total amount of Bonus Points that may be earned during the Promotion Period with this offer. Bonus Points earned on Base Points do not count toward tier qualification. Please allow six to eight weeks from completion of your stay for points to appear in your HHonors account.

I think in today's times, it helps to be an Accenture employee. I'm only talking from a miles and points perspective, of course!!! A few days back, I had written about complimentary Hilton HHonors Silver status (with upgrade to Gold in 4 stays) , which was intended for Accenture employees - not that employment was ever verified by Hilton. 50% off at Marriott in Thailand, for one night

Marriott is offering a 50% off for a single night, till 31 July 2014, in exchange for registering for / subscribing to their eNewsletter. I'm not sure what the connection is, but I think the fact that it is for a single night's stay may well be suggestive of promoting Thai tourism, if you know my meaning... But well...its there to be had. I know this isn't exactly an India-focussed deal, but I'm looking at another trip to BKK soon, and I think there could be others who might benefit from this. The 50% off is on the highest available rate. Bookings cannot be done online. Instead, it will have to be done by emailing bookmarriott@marriotthotels.com or by calling the hotel and quoting your cluster code (which is D58) and the voucher number (see steps below for getting the voucher). Qatar, Etihad and Gulf Air fare sales - ending soon

Three of the Middle-East based airlines are currently running fare sales. While Qatar's and Etihad's sales end on 5 and 6 September 2016 respectively (yeah, in a couple of days), Gulf Air's sale has only just begun. Here is more info on these sales, from an ex-India perspective. Qatar's Travel Festival Qatar's running a Travel Festival sale , offering up to 50% discounts on various routes, in business and economy classes. What's more, sales during this period will also earn 3x Qmiles, on Qatar's Privilege Club frequent flyer program. Book by 5 September, travel between 15 September 2016 and 30 June 2017. The sale offers discounts for one-person travel, and special fares when you travel in groups of 2 or 3 persons.
