Citi Premier Miles offering 25% bonus on transfers to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club
If you're the sort that's interested in Virgin Atlantic's Flying Club Miles program, then Citibank Premier Miles currently have an offer for you. There's a 25% bonus when you transfer Citi Premier Miles to Virgin Atlantic’s Flying Club Miles program.
While neither of us on this blog are much into Virgin Atlantic's Flying Club program, The Points Guy's March 2016 valuations places a value of $0.015, or 1.5 US$ cents, per Virgin Atlantic Flying Club mile, which translates into about Rs 1.02 a mile. And we do know that a Citi PM has a marketable value of Rs 0.45.
Normally one would transfer at a rate of 2 Premier Miles : 1 Virgin Atlantic Flying Club Miles. However, under this promotion, you can convert 2 Citi PMs to 1.25 Virgin Atlantic Flying Club miles. A minimum of 100 Citi PMs need to be transferred, under this offer, which is valid till 17 April 2016. A request once made for transfer, cannot be cancelled.
The overall popularity of the Premier Miles program and its redemptions have waned in recent times, ever since they devalued their transfer ratios. However, it still makes sense to transfer out of the program to one of Citi PM's partner loyalty programs, when these kind of promotions are announced. They've run a couple of such transfer bonus promotions in the past, such as a transfer to some of their airline partners, as well as to hotel partners.
Below are some the key terms, and you can find the full T&Cs for this offer here:

Hi,thanks for running this wonderful blog and promptly answering the questions from newbies like me. I own a Citibank premiermiles card where I have accumulated 17000 premiermiles. Earlier I have always redeemed premiermiles by converting them to JPMILES. However, I was wondering if there are better ways of utilising them. Can you please guide me as to which airlines and hotel points can the premiermiles be converted in India? I also own a Amex Jet platinum card which I use as my primary card. The premiermiles card is only used where Amex is not accepted. Thanks
