September update to IHG's Accelerate promotion

In the last week of August 2015, IHG announced Accelerate, its promotion for Fall of 2015.




Under the earlier offer, I could earn up to 51,500 bonus points for completing all of my offers / goals.


This has been updated to reflect an additional promotion for September, which includes 10,000 bonus points for having just ONE stay in September. Plus more bonus points for additional stays.


From an India perspective, there are several IHG hotels that you could stay at, to benefit from this promotion. Many of them offer rooms at a per-night rate in the region of Rs 5,000++, and that's for certain Crowne Plaza properties!

Conclusion

While I'm not keen on staying 18 nights for a total of 58,000 bonus points, it makes far more sense to earn 10k points with just one night's stay. Having said that, this promotion may be better for new members who sign up now for the program, which earn up to 2 free nights (1 free night for every 2 stays).     I m finding it difficult to make a stay in sept.Can i do a matress run for 1 night stay and get 10k points

      absolutely...you call it a mattress run, some might call it a stay! but one night is one night!!! provided of course, that you've received this promotion.

    Just to be sure of my understanding..i see jaipur to be cheapest at 3k and if i book one night and dnt turn up then also i get 10k points..so it means i m buying 10k at 3k..which becomes a good redemption during points break..m i missing out anything in this emtire chain?

      No, you will have to turn up. Booking it alone won't work.

I think in today's times, it helps to be an Accenture employee. I'm only talking from a miles and points perspective, of course!!! 50% off at Marriott in Thailand, for one night

Marriott is offering a 50% off for a single night, till 31 July 2014, in exchange for registering for / subscribing to their eNewsletter. I'm not sure what the connection is, but I think the fact that it is for a single night's stay may well be suggestive of promoting Thai tourism, if you know my meaning... But well...its there to be had. I know this isn't exactly an India-focussed deal, but I'm looking at another trip to BKK soon, and I think there could be others who might benefit from this. The 50% off is on the highest available rate. Bookings cannot be done online. Instead, it will have to be done by emailing bookmarriott@marriotthotels.com or by calling the hotel and quoting your cluster code (which is D58) and the voucher number (see steps below for getting the voucher). Qatar, Etihad and Gulf Air fare sales - ending soon

Three of the Middle-East based airlines are currently running fare sales. While Qatar's and Etihad's sales end on 5 and 6 September 2016 respectively (yeah, in a couple of days), Gulf Air's sale has only just begun. Here is more info on these sales, from an ex-India perspective. Qatar's Travel Festival Qatar's running a Travel Festival sale , offering up to 50% discounts on various routes, in business and economy classes. What's more, sales during this period will also earn 3x Qmiles, on Qatar's Privilege Club frequent flyer program. Book by 5 September, travel between 15 September 2016 and 30 June 2017.
