Etihad - 4x, 3x and 2x miles promotion

Continuing with its spate of bonus miles offers in 2015 (this is the third one, if I'm right), Etihad has launched a new promotion that offers 4x miles for travel in first class, 3x for business class and 2x for economy class.

The conditions are different for each promotion, so do read on below. And there's a similar promotion for Jet Privilege members also, to earn JP miles.

4x miles in first class, 3x miles in business class

Etihad Guest members earn 4x / 3x miles for travel in First and Business Class respectively, with Etihad Airways Partner (EAP) airlines - Etihad Airways, airberlin, Air Serbia, Air Seychelles, Alitalia and Jet Airways. This offer is open to all new bookings made between 16 and 28 September 2015, for travel between 25 September 2015 and 15 December 2015.

Members will earn bonus miles on codeshare international flights where the operating and marketing airline is an EAP. So it has to be an international flight, necessarily, to qualify for this promotion.

Registration is required (for every passenger, even if they're on the same ticket). You can register here, but make sure you register before 28 September 2015.

There are some exclusions (more T&Cs on the registration page - link above):

• When travelling on Jet Airways, ‘P’ class in Premiere will not be an eligible class to accrue promotion bonus miles under this campaign. 
• No bonus miles are credited for Economy Class or Premium Economy. 
• No bonus tier miles or tier segments will be credited. 
• No bonus miles will be credited for redemption or GuestSeats or free flights. 
• No bonus miles will be credited for travel in Etihad Regional. 

2x miles in economy class

Etihad Guest members earn 2x miles for travel in Economy Class with Etihad Airways. This offer is open to all new bookings made between 16 and 28 September 2015, for travel between 17 September 2015 and 15 December 2015. Note, that this offer is not applicable for travel on other EAP airlines. Registration is required, here, before 28 September 2015.

Note: The official email from Etihad describes the offer as valid for travel from 17 September 2015, whereas the start date of travel mentioned on the website is 25 September 2015. I've sought clarification, and will update this post soon

Update on 25 September 2015 from Ethiad: Ethiad has clarified that the start date of travel for this promotion will be 25 September 2015 and not 17 September 2015. How timely...not!!!

Exclusions are:

• The ‘bonus miles’ will be offered on Etihad Airways operated flights and does not include redemption flights, code share flights or free flights. 
• The ‘bonus miles’ earned will be Etihad Guest miles and not tier miles. 
• No bonus tier miles or tier segments will be credited. 

Conclusion

I've had good takings from the last time they offered 4x miles for travel on Etihad, in first or business class. I had a business class booking that included AUH-LHR return, and earned a ton of miles on just that promotion (also having regard to my base fare bucket!). I've also had some good luck with redemptions, and so I would therefore readily sign up for this promotion. There's no downside to signing up, so you might as well go ahead and do that, after which you could evaluate moving your travel plans (if any), to Etihad / EAP airlines.
