Jet Airways and Etihad sale - 20% to 50% off

Jet Airways and Etihad have launched the India sale for the next 3 days, ie it runs from 25 July to 27 July 2014. The sale offers a minimum discount of 20%, going up to 50% on select routes, valid on both Economy and Business class (Premiere), for domestic as well as international travel. In addition, double miles are also on offer, for bookings on specific fare classes

As with any sales, note that the discounts are not system-wide, but are available on limited inventory of seats only. The additional promotion for double miles is available for all bookings on:
  • For domestic travel: O, W and B classes (Economy) and P (Business). 
  • For international flights to SAARC countries: W (Economy) and P (Business)
  • For international flights to USA, Canada and South America: O, W (Economy) and P (Business)
  • For international flights to Middle East, Africa, Europe: O (Economy) and P (Business)
These are the lowest fare classes in economy and business, which explains the 2x miles.

The travel should commence on or after 1 September and complete before 30 November 2014 (for international sectors) and 15 June 2015 (for domestic sectors). Also, the entire journey should be completed by that date. This is simple to apply for round-trips, but I suppose what it also means is that the flight should be COMPLETED by 30 November 2014. So for example, a LHR-BOM flight should complete by 30 November 2014 (as opposed to just a departure, which lands the next day).

  • JetPrivilege reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to withdraw this offer at any point in time and to approve or disapprove the crediting of the Double Base JPMiles to the account of any JetPrivilege member
  • Retro-credit of JPMiles for travel taken on eligible flights can be claimed as per the existing JetPrivilege terms and conditions i.e. existing member can claim retro-credit within 180 days of travel & a newly enrolled member can claim retro-credit for a period of 180 days prior enrolment
  • In case of any disputes the decision of Jet Airways, Etihad Airways & JetPrivilege will be final and binding

50% off at Marriott in Thailand, for one night

Marriott is offering a 50% off for a single night, till 31 July 2014, in exchange for registering for / subscribing to their eNewsletter. I'm not sure what the connection is, but I think the fact that it is for a single night's stay may well be suggestive of promoting Thai tourism, if you know my meaning... But well...its there to be had. I know this isn't exactly an India-focussed deal, but I'm looking at another trip to BKK soon, and I think there could be others who might benefit from this. The 50% off is on the highest available rate. Bookings cannot be done online. Qatar, Etihad and Gulf Air fare sales - ending soon

Three of the Middle-East based airlines are currently running fare sales. While Qatar's and Etihad's sales end on 5 and 6 September 2016 respectively (yeah, in a couple of days), Gulf Air's sale has only just begun. Here is more info on these sales, from an ex-India perspective. Qatar's Travel Festival Qatar's running a Travel Festival sale , offering up to 50% discounts on various routes, in business and economy classes. What's more, sales during this period will also earn 3x Qmiles, on Qatar's Privilege Club frequent flyer program. Book by 5 September, travel between 15 September 2016 and 30 June 2017.
