SpiceJet 50% off - 3 days sale starts today - and the website is inundated

SpiceJet is offering a 50% discount on all its direct flights, for tickets booked on 21, 22 and 23 January 2014, as long as it is at least 30 days in advance of travel, and travel is on or before 15 April 2014. I heard this on the radio this morning, but at that time there was nothing on Spicejet's website.

From what I've seen and heard, there are no capacity controls - all seats are on offer. But do remember, it is 50% off on the relevant fare bucket, so not all fares are equal! SG's website shows the following indicative fares, though I'm not sure they're "suggestive" ;-)...Nonetheless, this should be a good deal.


This follows similar offers they had in 2013, including the one where they sold tickets at Rs 2,013 a pop, irrespective of sector. And as happened in those instances, the spicejet.com website has taken a beating - what with all those visits!



If you do get lucky, here are the full T&Cs:

  • Super Sale is valid on all direct flights on the SpiceJet network. Connecting and Via flights will not feature in Super Sale. 
  • SpiceJet will offer 50% discount on base fare and fuel surcharge on the ticket. All applicable fees / taxes to be paid by the customer. 
  • Minimum 30 days advance purchase required to avail of the Super Sale fares. 
  • Super Sale is a 3 day offer for bookings made between 21st January 2014 and 23rd January 2014. 
  • Super Sale is valid for travel up to 15th April 2014. 
  • Seats are subject to availability. 
  • Super Sale is not valid for infant or group bookings (10 passengers or more traveling together). 
  • Super Sale cannot be clubbed with any other existing offer. 
  • Super Sale is available on spicejet.com, online travel portals, and through travel agents. It is NOT available through SpiceJet’s Sales and Reservation Centre or at our Airport Ticketing Offices. 
  • Changes/cancellation in the bookings made under Super Sale offer can be made upon payment of a applicable change/cancellation fee along with difference in fare, if applicable. 
  • SpiceJet reserves the right to modify, alter, amend or change any of the terms and conditions made applicable to the program at any time without notice and it also reserves the right to withdraw the offer without prior notice.

I think in today's times, it helps to be an Accenture employee. I'm only talking from a miles and points perspective, of course!!! 50% off at Marriott in Thailand, for one night

Marriott is offering a 50% off for a single night, till 31 July 2014, in exchange for registering for / subscribing to their eNewsletter. I'm not sure what the connection is, but I think the fact that it is for a single night's stay may well be suggestive of promoting Thai tourism, if you know my meaning... But well...its there to be had. I know this isn't exactly an India-focussed deal, but I'm looking at another trip to BKK soon, and I think there could be others who might benefit from this. The 50% off is on the highest available rate. Bookings cannot be done online. Instead, it will have to be done by emailing bookmarriott@marriotthotels.com or by calling the hotel and quoting your cluster code (which is D58) and the voucher number (see steps below for getting the voucher). Qatar, Etihad and Gulf Air fare sales - ending soon

Three of the Middle-East based airlines are currently running fare sales. While Qatar's and Etihad's sales end on 5 and 6 September 2016 respectively (yeah, in a couple of days), Gulf Air's sale has only just begun. Here is more info on these sales, from an ex-India perspective. Qatar's Travel Festival Qatar's running a Travel Festival sale , offering up to 50% discounts on various routes, in business and economy classes. What's more, sales during this period will also earn 3x Qmiles, on Qatar's Privilege Club frequent flyer program. Book by 5 September, travel between 15 September 2016 and 30 June 2017.
