Two promotions from ITC Hotels and Jet Airways

There are currently a couple of promotions running, that we haven't written about here on the blog. Given that these are expiring soon, I thought it would be useful for our readers to check these out, to see if it interests them. Read on for more.


ITC Hotels is offering Rs 1,000 dining or spa credit, free wifi, and double Club ITC green points for all stays booked by 15 October 2016, and completed by 31 October 2016. This includes several locations where ITC operates Fortune brand hotels. Mind you, these will not be eligible for SPG credits, where the hotel is also an SPG hotel.

Jet Airways currently has a promotion for a 15% discount on business class (Premiere) fares, and 10% discount on economy class fares, when using your HDFC Bank Jet Airways co-branded credit card. This promotion is valid for tickets purchased by 31 December 2016. There seem to be no conditions as to travel dates.


You will need to use the following promotion codes at the time of booking:
  • For travel in Economy use 9WHDFC1016
  • For travel in Première use 9WHDFC1516

Although the discount applies on base fare only, yet this is a useful promotion to save some cash. More information on this offer, including the T&Cs, are here.

I checked out of the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile yesterday morning, and checked into the Le Meridien Etoile, just around the corner from the Hyatt, in the evening after a day's sightseeing. Hyatt was kind enough to hold my bags for the duration of the day (which is a surprise in today's world of terror threats), and I'm grateful to them for that. The Le Meridien has standard and chic rooms as two of their base category rooms. As I mentioned in the introduction post, I booked a chic room on an award. Hotel review: Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium

As part of my recent business visit to Singapore, I spent an extra night there just so I could catch up with friends, some of whom I haven't met in over a decade. And because I needed one more stay to qualify for the bonus under IHG's Accelerate 2016 promotion , and also simultaneously earn a few more IHG Rewards Club bonus points under the Book Direct promotion, I decided I was going to spend the extra night at an IHG hotel. Luckily for me, just hours before my flight to Singapore, I was able to get a rate of SG$150++ a night, which is a fantastic rate for Singapore, especially for a booking as late as mine was. Hello from Paris, where my business-and-vacation trip is coming to a close. Vinay is in KUL on work, an Sam has been largely incommunicado.
