Greetings to you on account of the Nation's 70th Independence Day tomorrow!
Many of you, we guess, would be spending some time away from home this long weekend. But that's no reason to stay away from updates from the points, miles and travel space.

Airline stuff
- Indian airlines seem like they only need a half-good reason to offer promotional fares. And it was no different this week. While most have ended, Air India's sale continues for bookings till 15 August 2016.
- Etihad is offering a sale up to 20% discount for ex-India bookings to anywhere on their network, including codeshare flights, given that 'tis the season of the Olympics. Valid for booking till 21 August 2016.
- Our newest blogger Sam shares his experience in business class on board Air India's Boeing 787 Dreamliner service from Dubai to Delhi.
- You can borrow an Amazon Kindle for in-flight reading, in a latest joint promotion brought to you by Air Asia and Amazon.
- At 2.1 billion miles one way, this has to be the world's most expensive award ticket by a long shot. Either an IT error, or I'm getting jittery now...
