Axis Bank-Air Vistara co-branded credit card launched

Earlier today, Axis Bank and Air Vistara launched their co-branded credit card range. Here's a quick update on the card offerings, variants and benefits.

There are three variants of the card, which are issued through Visa as the issuing network:
  • Base: Axis Vistara card, joining and annual fees of Rs 1,500 each;
  • Mid-range: Axis Vistara Signature card, joining and annual fees of Rs 3,000 each;
  • Top-end: Axis Vistara Infinite card, joining and annual fees of Rs 10,000 each.
Here are the benefits upon signup and after spends.

Depending on the card variant, each card comes with additional benefits such as weekend banking, lounge access, restaurant discounts, discounted golfing experiences, fuel surcharge waiver, etc. More on that here.

The interesting thing is that spends earn tickets in addition to Club Vistara points / miles. That's virtually a double-dip, and I quite like the idea.

At the fee levels of Rs 1,500, Rs 3,000 and Rs 10,000 for the base, Signature and Infinite card variants respectively, there is significant upside in terms of the benefits. In particular, the joining fees pays for itself through the complimentary ticket upon signup. Similarly the annual fees are paid back through the bonus CV points, though this has an immediate tangible benefit only at the Infinite card level (highest variant).

To be honest, I've not really had much time to delve into the details of this announcement. I'll update this post after I've gone through the analysis in detail.
