Vistara fare sale up to 25% off + further 5% for online and app bookings

Vistara is offering a flat 25% discount across all classes of service on bookings by 10 June 2016, for flights between 1 July and 30 September 2016. This comes close on the heels of fare sales by the other airlines, and is aimed at filling up empty seats during the second quarter of the fiscal year, which is a lean period for Indian aviation.

The discount of 25% is only on the base fare, meaning fuel surcharges, taxes, fees and other charges will continue to apply. There's a further 5% discount (on the base fare, again) if you book directly on their website www.airvistara.com, or if you use Vistara's iOS or Android apps for the booking.

The sale is valid on one-way and return trips, but on  direct flights only (and not connections). The sale is capacity controlled, since they're only discounting what they believe will be unsold seats. You can access the sale and the T&Cs on the landing page here.

Here are the indicative base fares for various routes, after considering the 5% online/app discount.

I searched the fares on both Cleartrip and www.airvistara.com with the following results, for random dates (12 July, DEL-BOM one-way):

Cleartrip results: Rs 2,057 is the base fare after 25% discount from the regular fare.

Vistara results: Rs 1,920 is the base fare after 30% discount from the regular fare.

Conclusion

Overall, these are pretty decent discount levels. However, I see that for the sample date selected for the above analysis (12 July 2016), Jet Airways has fares that are still about 20% lower than Vistara's discounted fares. Incidentally, Jet Airways' Lo Fares sale is open till end of today, if you're interested.
