Etihad offering 10% discount on bookings via new iOS app

Over a month ago, Etihad launched their mobile app - only iOS, mind you - that does pretty much all the usual stuff that a normal airline app is supposed to do. In addition to booking flights, you can also check your mileage balance and transactions, as well as check in for your flight. Apparently, they've now updated the app after customer feedback, and are currently running a small promotion that offers a 10% discount when you use the app to make a booking by 30 June 2016.

The updated app v1.1 includes functionality to access loyalty transaction history, and support for ID Travel (Etihad-provided ticket) check-ins, which weren't there in the first version. In addition, there are bug fixes and performance enhancements.

The 10% discount is valid for bookings made by 30 June 2016, for travel before 15 December 2016. Blackout periods apply: 20 June to 20 July, 15 August to 15 September 2016.

You can access the app on the itunes store here

Though I do a lot of searches using airline (and hotel) apps, I book tickets on my PC almost exclusively (or through my employer's travel desk, for most official travel). However, if you're the sort that does indeed use smartphones (iPhone in particular, in this case) to book tickets, Etihad will reward you with a 10% discount.

Given the effort involved in downloading the app and using it, I think 10% (particularly on a high-value booking) can be quite rewarding!
