Trip report: Singapore Changi airport SATS Premier Lounge review

After 4 whole days in SIN and a lot of alcohol in different forms and strengths, it was time to say bye to the Lion City. I had a 10.25 am flight back to Chennai, but chose to get to the airport a little early in order to check out the lounge, and look around for a few new single malts at the duty free.

My flight was boarding from Terminal 3, and the SATS Premier Lounge is located on the first level on your left (up the escalator) after immigration.

A young Barack Obama look-alike was in charge of the lounge's front desk!

The F&B is placed immediately to the right, behind the wooden separation you can see in this picture below.

On the left and to the back of the front desk, is the entire seating area.

There were very few guests in the lounge at the time I was there, so I had ample choice with seating.

Because this was around 8 am, they had breakfast laid out. The lounge caters to various airlines in addition to Jet Airways, but mostly flying to destinations in Asia and the Middle East, and so the catering choices seemed relevant to that.

The smoking area is located a little after the lounge, once you cross the KrisFlyer Gold lounge but before the Silver lounge.

While I agree smoking isn't for everyone, the area itself offers some great views of the apron and tarmac, beyond the glass walls.

Overall, the F&B was quite good at the lounge. Even by my standards, breakfast isn't the best time for alcohol (unless it is champagne), so I skipped the booze. There isn't much of a view of the apron and runway from the lounge, which is a shame. However, there's wifi (no password) and it is quite fast as well.
