Awesome deal: 50% off on Etihad business class from US to select cities India, Middle East, Asia

Here's something fabulous for our US-based readers. Etihad has announced a sale of up to 50% off in business class from the US to specific cities in Asia, including India and the Middle East. The sale is for specific fare classes only, for travel till 12 December 2016. This sale is open for another two days, and ends early morning on Tuesday, 12 April 2016 (US Eastern time).

The sale is valid for travel from and to specific city combinations only. For readers' convenience, I've summarised the base prices (which are inclusive of all taxes and fees!) below. However, you can also access the landing page for this sale here.

Here are some illustrative fares for New York JFK to Delhi in August 2016, on Etihad.

Very often, sales of up to 50% don't really work as advertised. However, when compared to other airlines' prices for the same sector and dates, for a sample, it is very clear that this offer seems to work the way it is intended to. I say this on the basis that generally, typical business class fares from the US to India are in the region, or in excess, of US$4,500.

However, it should be noted that some of the connecting flights, particularly on the AUH-India sector, could be on Jet Airways. Also, some of the Etihad flights ex-US are operated on Jet Airways metal. However, those are smaller pain points (though they exist, nonetheless), given the prices under this offer.
