The week that was - 27 March 2016

Aviation news
- The week got off to the worst possible start with the bombing at Brussels' Zaventem airport (Live from a Lounge). Two Jet Airways crew just about managed to escape, but sadly quite a few people fell prey to this cowardly act, which happened at the very end of Jet Airways' 9-year stint in Brussels, before moving over to Amsterdam as their new European hub.
- Details are only slowly emerging with regard the Fly Dubai crash, but "Pilot Fatigue" is increasingly being touted as on one of the primary reasons.
Hotel news
- Starwood integrated most Design Hotels in India into the SPG portfolio.
- The Starwood-Marriott-Anbang deal took a couple of turns, the latest being Marriott's revised offer to Starwood, bettering Anbang's offer.
Hotel promotions and the like
- Suites at Hyatt Paris in the $150 range...act fast!!!
- How to book cash+points rates with Marriott hotels, and how does that look in India.
- IHG Rewards Club has a rather rewarding promotion that could earn you 30,000 points after 3 stays.
Airline points promotion
- 31 March 2016 is the last day to register for and utilise Jet Privilege's promotion to earn 30% bonus when transferring from other loyalty programs to JP.
