Hilton HHonors Asia-Pacific promotion - up to 40% off - stay 1 April to 31 December 2016

Hilton has announced a flash sale offering up to 40% discounts (that's 35% plus additional 5% for HHonors members). The sale is valid for bookings made by 4 April 2016, for stays between 1 April 2016 and 31 December 2016.


You can access this offer here. Note, that the booking time for the offer is determined based on the time zone in Singapore (GMT +8).

The offer is valid at all participating Hilton Worldwide properties across Asia Pacific (excluding Hilton Tokyo, Hilton Osaka, Hilton Colombo, Hilton Colombo Residences and all properties in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao). Blackout dates may apply and vary by property, and availability is capacity-controlled. You need to book at least 2 days in advance of arrival. 

Here are some indicative rates for Hilton hotels in India, and if you ask me, they're absolutely fantastic rates! Here's what the Hilton Chennai and Conrad Pune are potentially available at - the whole 40% discount.


And here's the Hilton Shillim Resort & Spa, which is an absolute steal at under Rs 10,000 a night.


Similar offers are available throughout Asia Pacific, with the discount rates at some locations going all the way up to the full 40%.

If you are confident of your exact travel dates (something I'm never good at), this is a great chance to save quite a bit of cash.

I checked out of the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile yesterday morning, and checked into the Le Meridien Etoile, just around the corner from the Hyatt, in the evening after a day's sightseeing. Hyatt was kind enough to hold my bags for the duration of the day (which is a surprise in today's world of terror threats), and I'm grateful to them for that. Hotel review: Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium

As part of my recent business visit to Singapore, I spent an extra night there just so I could catch up with friends, some of whom I haven't met in over a decade. And because I needed one more stay to qualify for the bonus under IHG's Accelerate 2016 promotion , and also simultaneously earn a few more IHG Rewards Club bonus points under the Book Direct promotion, I decided I was going to spend the extra night at an IHG hotel. Luckily for me, just hours before my flight to Singapore, I was able to get a rate of SG$150++ a night, which is a fantastic rate for Singapore, especially for a booking as late as mine was. Hello from Paris, where my business-and-vacation trip is coming to a close. Vinay is in KUL on work, an Sam has been largely incommunicado.
