Starwood offering up to 50% discounts on select Asia-Pacific hotels

There's a great offer from Starwood that was announced earlier this week. Starwood is offering discounts of up to 50% on select properties in the Asia Pacific region, for bookings between 25 and 28 January 2016, and stays between 28 January and 31 May 2016.


This is not a promotion, so no registration is required. The discounts are automatically factored in, if you book from the landing page for this promotion, or use the promotion code DAILY50 or DAILYRB when you book on www.spg.com.

While there are some non-participating hotels for this offer, there are quite a few good ones that are participating, and you can find the list here. With specific reference to India, the following 27 hotels are participating:

You should bear in mind that the offer is for discounts of up to 50% and so, in many cases, the actual discount is likely to be lower than that. However, some of the hotels (including many of the Indian ones) offer breakfast complimentary under this offer.

Based on a quick search, I find that not all hotels have availability on all days, which suggests there's a lot of capacity control under this promotion. That, and the fact that you need to book by 31 January 2016 to make use of this offer, means you'll have to act fast if you're hoping to score a bargain!

Conclusion

I've got some travels coming up, but try as I might, I've not been able to find a room for my preferred travel dates, under this offer. So if you're actually able to book a room at a 50% discount under this deal, I'd say you should consider yourself very lucky!

I think in today's times, it helps to be an Accenture employee. I'm only talking from a miles and points perspective, of course!!! 50% off at Marriott in Thailand, for one night

Marriott is offering a 50% off for a single night, till 31 July 2014, in exchange for registering for / subscribing to their eNewsletter. I'm not sure what the connection is, but I think the fact that it is for a single night's stay may well be suggestive of promoting Thai tourism, if you know my meaning... But well...its there to be had. I know this isn't exactly an India-focussed deal, but I'm looking at another trip to BKK soon, and I think there could be others who might benefit from this. The 50% off is on the highest available rate. Bookings cannot be done online. Instead, it will have to be done by emailing bookmarriott@marriotthotels.com or by calling the hotel and quoting your cluster code (which is D58) and the voucher number (see steps below for getting the voucher). Qatar, Etihad and Gulf Air fare sales - ending soon

Three of the Middle-East based airlines are currently running fare sales. While Qatar's and Etihad's sales end on 5 and 6 September 2016 respectively (yeah, in a couple of days), Gulf Air's sale has only just begun. Here is more info on these sales, from an ex-India perspective. Qatar's Travel Festival Qatar's running a Travel Festival sale , offering up to 50% discounts on various routes, in business and economy classes. What's more, sales during this period will also earn 3x Qmiles, on Qatar's Privilege Club frequent flyer program. Book by 5 September, travel between 15 September 2016 and 30 June 2017.
