Extend SPG points expiry in less than 60 seconds with up to 350 free Starpoints

In case you didn't know already, Starpoints under the SPG program expire if there is no account activity in the last 12 months. So it is critical that you have some activity or the other, to keep your points from expiring - activity that can come from earning or redeeming points in any way. Fortunately, here's a quick way to earn up to 350 Starpoints and stop all your Starpoints from expiring.

200 Starpoints if you opt for e-Statements

SPG will credit you with 200 Starpoints if you opted for e-Statements. Head here. Alternatively, you can login to your account at spg.com, click on your name in the top right hand corner, and head over to "My Profile" under the "Manage my account" tab. Scroll down to Communication preferences, click on edit and add Starwood Preferred Guest E-statements to your preferences.

If this is already there, be sure to delete it using the edit option, then log out and log in back again at the link I've provided above, and opt-in for e-statements.

150 Starpoints for updating security information

SPG is also offering a further 150 Starpoints for you to update security information via 4 questions, here. While you can update the security information at any time, you'll need to do it before 31 October 2015 if you want to earn the 150 points.

Conclusion

Admittedly, 200, 150 or even 350 Starpoints isn't much. However, any earning is good earning my book. Plus this will help extend the validity of all your existing Starpoints by another year, so there is really no downside to earning these points.
