Almaty trip report - Part 6 - DEL-MAA on Jet Airways
As I mentioned earlier, work took me to Amlaty in Kazakhstan a couple of weeks month back. This is the last part of the trip report, and here's the trip report index:
Flight: 9W832 DEL-MAA | 2h 55m | 1095 miles | Business Class
This was my final flight of this trip, and felt like the longest, given it was my trip back home.
Boarding in DEL was on time, and the weather outside was a rather hot 37 deg C. Once again, I had a window seat in the first row, and the leg room was rather generous, especially compared to what I'd had on Air Astana.
Business class was rather empty on this flight, considering it was a Saturday and the flight was at about 4 pm.
Given the temperature at DEL, it was a pretty good idea to offer cold coffee as a welcome drink...a first for me on Jet.
Soon, menus were handed out for snacks.
Because I hadn't had anything more than a nibble for lunch, I decided I would have something substantial as a snack, and so I chose the Samosa with Pindi Chole.
Once we reached cruising altitude, I was quite hungry, and yet the crew chose to take its time to set things up a bit, and eventually arrived with my meal.
I spent the rest of the flight chatting with my seat-mate, who turned out to be an ATR first officer with Jet Airways. I say "chatting" out of politeness! He was rather new to the airline and to flying, and it was mostly I who did the talking. I did try to engage him in a bit of a chat around interesting experiences he had while flying, and all he could say was "taxi, take off, cruise, descent, land" !!!
The rest of the flight was quite uneventful, except for this tiny cockroach on the panel separating the forward cabin from the galley! Shocking, Jet Airways!
I mentioned it to the IFE once we landed (the bug hadn't moved an inch), and he quite coolly took a napkin and swiped it off the wall ! And neither he nor my pilot seat-mate seemed too concerned about the bug's presence in the first place! Must be a routine occurrence !
Anyway, I was glad to get off the aircraft for more reasons than the bug. I was also a little annoyed that I'd be flying off in a couple of days' time, to DXB, but at least I'd get two days at home with the family.
- MAA-DEL on Jet Airways 9W 822, and transit in DEL
- DEL-ALA on Air Astana KC 908
- The Ritz-Carlton, Almaty - hotel review
- Almaty airport departures and Business Class lounge review
- ALA-DEL on Air Astana KC 907 (aka 7 am is sparkling wine time), and transit in DEL
- DEL-MAA on Jet Airways 9W 822

This has been a very meticulous trip-report!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed all the posts.
IFE stand for In-Flight Entertainment. Flight Attendants have been erroneously mentioned as IFE.
Hi Puneet and thanks. Also, IFE = In-Flight-Executive!
