Extra Citi PremierMiles with select partners

I've not had a chance to write about Citibank's Extra Premier Miles promotion in the past. This has been on since October 2013, and select partners are added / announced periodically, where spends earn extra PMs. This promotion earns bonus (extra) PMs depending on the establishment.


The latest update to this promotion, valid for spends till 31 March 2015, is between 1 and 6 extra PMs per Rs 100 of spend (that's a total of 5 to 10 PMs per Rs 100 spent) at select establishments. The full list of establishments is here.


The best deals under this offer now are on spends with Holiday Inn hotels and on-premises outlets, which offers 6 extra PMs per Rs 100 of spend, making it a total of 10 PMs per Rs 100 of spend. On the other hand, spends with Marriott, Ritz-Carlton and Ginger Hotels (and their on-premises outlets) offer only 1 extra PM, for a total of 5 PMs per Rs 100 of spend. Also, not all properties of these hotels are necessarily covered.But bonus is bonus, particularly if you're earning it on spends that would have occurred anyway. There is no registration required for this offer.

As I mentioned before, the Extra Premier Miles promotion offers between 1 and 6 extra Premier Miles per Rs 100 of spend on the Citibank Premier Miles credit card. This compares to earning
  • 10 miles per Rs 100 on all airline transactions
  • 10 miles per Rs 100 on flight tickets, hotel stays, and car rentals at the dedicated PremierMiles website
  • 10 miles per Rs 100 on spends with online partner merchants
  • 4 miles per Rs 100 on all other spends.

This follows their 2x promotion on all international spends (I hope you registered for that one).

I checked out of the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile yesterday morning, and checked into the Le Meridien Etoile, just around the corner from the Hyatt, in the evening after a day's sightseeing. Hyatt was kind enough to hold my bags for the duration of the day (which is a surprise in today's world of terror threats), and I'm grateful to them for that. Hotel review: Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium

As part of my recent business visit to Singapore, I spent an extra night there just so I could catch up with friends, some of whom I haven't met in over a decade. And because I needed one more stay to qualify for the bonus under IHG's Accelerate 2016 promotion , and also simultaneously earn a few more IHG Rewards Club bonus points under the Book Direct promotion, I decided I was going to spend the extra night at an IHG hotel. Luckily for me, just hours before my flight to Singapore, I was able to get a rate of SG$150++ a night, which is a fantastic rate for Singapore, especially for a booking as late as mine was. Hello from Paris, where my business-and-vacation trip is coming to a close. Vinay is in KUL on work, an Sam has been largely incommunicado.
