Amex now offering lounge tie-ups in India
Amex runs its own Platinum lounges in Mumbai and Delhi airports. I've been to both, and while I've written about the one in Delhi, you can find AJ's (of Live from a Lounge) piece about the one in Mumbai, here. These are complimentary for Amex Platinum primary credit card holders, and are chargeable for other Amex cards, including add-on card holders, at Rs 750 per visit.
Now in addition to these two lounges, Amex is now offering paid lounge access to all Amex card holders, at a total of 7 other lounges across 5 cities - Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore - for a fixed rate of Rs 500++.
Not all of these are great lounges, and the food offerings at some of these - especially the ones at Chennai and Bangalore - can be quite bad. I also found the Carnations lounge in Mumbai a bit boring in terms of food. Also, the quality of free public wifi access across all airports in India is uniformly pathetic. So I'm not too excited about 6 of these lounges, and based on my experience at most of these lounges, I think the Rs 500++ charge is a bit of a scam!
However, the one that interests me in some way is the Plaza Premium Lounge in Arrivals in T3, Delhi. Now, this is not a lounge I've visited in the past, but I'm keen to see what they offer. Unfortunately, given my typical work schedule when I visit Delhi, I don't think I'll ever have the time to visit them, so reader inputs are most welcome and appreciated.

Last I visited this Plaza Premium lounge at T3 arrivals, it turned out to be more like a Spa with no food/refreshments on offer. Not at all spacious and definitely passable. All in all don't even bother paying a visit to this lounge.
