Have Visa Infinite card, want Hilton HHonors Gold?

Up until early 2013, Hilton HHonors ran a promo offering Hilton HHonors Gold if you had a Visa Infinite card and an Australian address. Both of these requirements were pretty easy to generate, and since the process was entirely online and based on user input, there were quite a few that got HHonors Gold without meeting either or both requirements (ie, holding a Visa Infinite card and having an Aussie address).

Visa and Hilton have now tied up again to offer HHonors Gold for Visa Infinite card holders. There is no address restriction this time, but - and this is a big one - you'll have to call the Visa Infinite Concierge to get the HHonors status processed to your account.


As far as I'm aware, ICICI Bank and Axis Bank offer the Visa Infinite card in India. I'm not sure if any others do, but there well may be. If you do hold a Visa Infinite card, then this is a great opportunity to get Hilton HHonors Gold status - do so before 31 December 2014. To recap, HHonors Gold gets you some good benefits, including:
  • complimentary space-available room upgrades at select hotels
  • complimentary high-speed Internet access
  • your choice of complimentary breakfast or additional HHonors Bonus Points at select hotels
  • 25% bonus on all Base Points earned

Here are the full T&Cs for this offer (I believe Asia Pacific includes India):
  • Offer is valid only for Visa Infinite cardholders issued in Asia Pacific (except Japan), Central Europe, Middle East and Africa.
  • To enjoy the complimentary upgrade to Hilton HHonors Gold membership, cardholders must enrol by 31 December 2014 by contacting Visa Infinite Concierge.
  • Upgrade to Hilton HHonors Gold status will take place up to 10 working days after registration through Visa Infinite Concierge, and the Hilton HHonors Gold Status Membership kit will be mailed out in 6 to 8 weeks.
  • Hilton HHonors Gold status benefits are not transferable.
  • If you cancel your card for any reason, your complimentary HHonors Gold status will be cancelled.

I checked out of the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile yesterday morning, and checked into the Le Meridien Etoile, just around the corner from the Hyatt, in the evening after a day's sightseeing. Hotel review: Holiday Inn Singapore Atrium

As part of my recent business visit to Singapore, I spent an extra night there just so I could catch up with friends, some of whom I haven't met in over a decade. And because I needed one more stay to qualify for the bonus under IHG's Accelerate 2016 promotion , and also simultaneously earn a few more IHG Rewards Club bonus points under the Book Direct promotion, I decided I was going to spend the extra night at an IHG hotel. Luckily for me, just hours before my flight to Singapore, I was able to get a rate of SG$150++ a night, which is a fantastic rate for Singapore, especially for a booking as late as mine was.
