SPG 20% off in Asia Pac for World MasterCard holders
SPG is offering 20% off on stays of 2 nights or longer, at specific hotels in Asia Pacific. The offer is valid only for payments made using a World MasterCard, and is valid till 31 March 2014. Here's the link to the landing page. The rates are in a very well spread-out range, starting from under $90, going all the way over $300 a night. While this includes a whole host of countries from Australia to Vietnam, I’m focusing on the India properties included here. I admit I was a bit misled initially, into thinking that the ones listed above were the only properties that this offer was valid at. But the dedicated page for the offer is here, where you'll find a drop down with options as to countries and cities.
I’d written earlier about the offer for complimentary SPG Gold status, if you complete at least one night in Asia Pacific and pay with a World MasterCard. I can’t see anything in this 20% offer that’s on now, that prevents someone from using this offer AND also getting the complimentary SPG Gold status on the same stay.
There are some obvious exclusions from the above. Often, such offers are made for relatively old properties, or those that see low traffic levels. Not the case here, so I suspect it is more of the usual, ie, that inclusion in this offer depends more on the host property.

I've stayed at quite a few of the Indian properties, and more than a handful in A-Pac, but I’ve always wanted to stay at the ITC Mughal, Agra, mainly because it is an ITC property, where they really do take care of you. Also, I am very impressed with ITC after my stay last month at the ITC Windsor, Bengaluru (trip report here), as also my recent stay over the last weekend at the ITC Grand Central, Mumbai (I'll probably write about that one pretty soon). But I don’t know if I can make good use of this offer for that, so for now, it remains in the bucket list. Some of the other good ones in India that are part of this offer are the ITC Kakatiya in Hyderabad (starting Rs 5500++), which I've always thought was a fabulous property.
