BA joins the Independence Day bandwagon

Only last night, I had posted about KLM's 34% off (66% fare for India's 66th Independence Day). BA seems to have joined the bandwagon, but only at a 15% off promotion. The offer is valid for 4 days, ie for bookings made up to 18 August 2013, for travels between 1 September and 31 December 2013. Also, this is valid only for selected Club World and First Class fares, to Europe and North America.

I'd have to say that this seems to be in response to KLM's offer. I'd also have to say that this seems to be an inferior offer in some ways, compared to KLM's, which is across all travel classes and is a 34% off (that's more than 2x of the discount that BA offers). However, it does provide some relief - in that (a) the booking period ends 3 days after KLM's, destinations include North America (KLM was only Europe) and travel period begins an entire month before KLM's offer.

All I can say, is that if this is the only thing that fits in your travel plans, then it may be worth your while.

A final word - Am I the only one who's seeing a hint of irony with this offer from British Airways?

Good to fly ex-India - 1/3 off on KLM
