Do you want to fly on an A330 within India?

There are some aviation geeks in India (and indeed, elsewhere in the world) who try and fly as many different aircraft as they can. Co-contributor to this blog, Vinay, is one of them. However, an A330 is something else! And if you haven't flown one, or want to fly one domestically, here's a limited-period option. Jet Airways will be using A330s on some of their domestic sectors this holiday season, between 23 December 2014 and 29 January 2015.

The flights upgraded to Airbus A330 are as follows:
Flight NumberOriginDestinationDepartureArrivalFrequency
9W827DelhiBengaluru0805 hrs1035 hrsDaily
9W828BengaluruDelhi1155 hrs1440 hrs1,3,4,5,6,7
9W828BengaluruDelhi1135 hrs1440 hrs2
9W835DelhiChennai1540 hrs1830 hrsDaily
9W836ChennaiDelhi1930 hrs2220 hrsDaily
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 refer to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday respectively.

I'd like to take Jet Airways' word that this is to meet the demand during the holiday season, though I suppose it is also a way to keep those aircraft occupied and running, in order to be more profitable operationally. However, I can't see any specific international routes they've tinkered with. They may also be diverting the existing B738 aircraft operating these routes, to other sectors to meet demand. Also, It isn't clear if it is the A330-300 or A330-200 that they'll be using. My guess is the A330-300, which by the way doesn't come with herringbone seats.

So if you want to fly one of these birds, here's a chance. Will you?
