Hilton HHonors Gold status – for FREE !!! (NO LONGER AVAILABLE)

Hilton HHonors GOLD status is a good status to have – not only for the benefits it offers when staying at Hilton properties, but also from the point of view, that you can use it to match status with other programs. Normally, getting to HHonors Gold means one of: 20 stays, 40 nights, or 75,000 base points. Now that’s a bit difficult for most of us. But here’s an easy way to obtain HHonors GOLD status for free.

There are two small catches – you need to have an Australian address, and a Visa Infinite credit card. If you have these, then just go to the Visa Infinite Landing Page and get yourself upgraded to HHonors GOLD. If you don’t, then follow the steps below:

1. Login to your HHonors account (or enroll here – its simple)

2. Use this address generator to create a valid Australian address.

3. Update your address to the Australian address (in #2 above) in your HHonors profile.

4. Generate an appropriate credit card number using this generator – remember to choose Visa – Chase Manhattan Bank as the issuer bank. There are two options for Visa – Chase Manhattan Bank in the drop-down, so make sure you select the first of them. Also make sure you use “4119 45xx xxxx xxxx” next to the bank name, when generating the card number. Remember, this is not a real credit card number.

5. Go to the Visa Infinite Landing Page and input this card number from step #4, and also your HHonors membership number.

You should now get a confirmation that your status has been upgraded.

6. Log out of your HHonors account, and log in after some time. The updated status may not reflect for some hours, so keep checking.

7. Once the status has been updated in your HHonors account, change your address back to your own (if required).

Warning and disclaimer

Naturally, this is not the most ideal, or indeed ethical, way to get GOLD status with HHonors. So do be prepared for the off-chance that HHonors notices your activity, and voids all the points in your account – remember, they will be well within their rights to do so.

The GOLD status should last through the current calendar year. If you don’t meet the requalification criteria for GOLD or the upgrade criteria for DIAMOND, you will be downgraded to your previous status (BLUE or SILVER, depending on where you were before this upgrade).
