An update on what's been happening

Folks - our apologies for this rather long, unfortunate hiatus. So here's an update for our readers. Firstly, thank you so much to those who've been inquiring. We're all well, but much has been happening with each of us, at a personal level, that has required our attention. That explains the absence of any posts for over two months (gosh! has it been that long?). MAEM started out as a personal blog, but we're proud of the progress we've made in the last nearly-4 years. That said, regular readers will also be aware that we here at MAEM have been considering a various changes to the blog for a very long time, including a new look and feel ... at least a little less unprofessional, to begin with!  And we think the time has now come to make those changes.  We're putting things together but it may still be a few weeks before we're live and running, so thank you for your patience.  See you in the new year. Until then, happy holidays, and our best wishes (and of c

Review: Air India Dreamliner 787 Business Class Delhi to Kolkata

India’s Flagship airline Air India has been in the news recently, for their upcoming Ahmedabad – London Heathrow – Newark flight, starting 15 August 2016 on their most coveted Dreamliner Boeing 787’s. Flying a fifth freedom flight on one of the world’s most competitive routes, is a great way to be in the news for sure. So I thought this would be a good time to post my review of the business class product on Air India's Dreamliner. Air India currently has 27 Dreamliners in service. I had the opportunity to fly on their Dreamliner on the CCU-DEL flight in 2013 in Economy and I had a great experience, both because of the aircraft, and because of the AI hospitality and F&B quality. I am a diehard fan of AI on board food. Last year I flew 10 flights on AI Dreamliner, on the DXB-DEL-CCU route. I will review my DXB-DEL and DEL-CCU journey simultaneously on this post. Check in: On the day I was flying, the DXB-DEL route had many business class seats open. I decided to experience their

Review: Le Meridien Etoile, Paris

I checked out of the Hyatt Regency Paris Etoile yesterday morning, and checked into the Le Meridien Etoile, just around the corner from the Hyatt, in the evening after a day's sightseeing. Hyatt was kind enough to hold my bags for the duration of the day (which is a surprise in today's world of terror threats), and I'm grateful to them for that. The Le Meridien has standard and chic rooms as two of their base category rooms. As I mentioned in the introduction post, I booked a chic room on an award. Here's a review of the hotel and room, but not breakfast (that didn't come with the room, and we planned to head to the airport a little early in any case).
